The salto de aguas blancas

The Salto de Aguas Blancas is a waterfall located about 20 kilometers from the town of Constanza, located 2,200 meters above sea level in the Valle Nuevo Scientific Reserve, in the eastern part of the Central Cordillera.  With its 83 meters of free fall and its average water temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, it is the only place in the West Indies that has alpine vegetation.

 Aguas Blanca: an ecological paradise
 It is a paradise where we can find 40 species of birds, 13 of them endemic to the Dominican Republic and a variety of mosses, flowers and epiphytic plants.  All these details make it a place to visit.  Its clear, limpid waters are extremely cold, which could cause hypothermia, so visitors are advised to be cautious.  You have several lodging options near Valle Nuevo and Creole restaurants just minutes from the waterfall.

 Access to the Aguas Blancas waterfall is arranged, which facilitates the ascent to the top (600 meters) for lovers of ecotourism and adventure.  This place is a real wonder, you can also practice certain sports such as hiking and rappelling.

 The whole landscape from the beginning of the road is splendid, starting from the Japanese colony, with its fields of flowers, carrots, potatoes and other vegetables, from there you can also enjoy the beauty.  and the splendor of Valle Nuevo and Aguas Blancas, with its mountains and cultures, while enjoying a cool temperature of around 12 degrees Celsius.

 This scientific reserve is considered the highest in the Caribbean, it is carefully protected both by the kindness of the people who live there and by the relevant authorities in order to guarantee the safety and stability of those who visit this magnificent place.
